Gopinath Temple

Location

The temple narrates a tale, which though curious is believed by so many devotees. It goes like this. Srimati Jahnava Devi was taken by the lord to the sanctum of the temple when she came to the temple for the evening aartis. Jahnava Devi is Ananga Manjari in Krishna’s pastimes, who is none other than the sister of Radha Rani. Later the deity of Ananga Manjari, was fixed to the left of Krishna. To the right Radharanis’s idol is placed. Besides this three, there are idols of Visakha and Lalita also seen.

The temple celebrates some occasions as very special, which attracts thousands of devotees. Jahnava Utsava, Jhulan Utsava and Ban Behar Besh marks special functions in the temple and the devotees took part in these with great enthusiasm. Darshan in the temple is scheduled as from 7.30 to 11.45 am in the morning and 4.30 to 8.30 pm in the evening. Mangala arati normally took place at 5 pm.
