Gaurikund

It's the trekking base for to Kedarnath. The village has a temple dedicated to Gauri and hot water springs. At a distance of 5 km from Son Prayag and at a altitude of 1982 m, Gaurikund is the last bus station on the Kedarnath route. Before proceeding for Kedarnath on foot, people bath in the hot water pond here and visit the Gauri Devi temple. This is the place where Goddess Parvati meditated to attain Lord Shiva.

A remote locale in the midst of the snow caped peaks of the Himalayas, Gaurikund encompass much religious significance.
