Location
A lovely shrine situated adjacent to the entrance of the Jhansi Fort, Ganesh Mandir has got some historical importance. It was here in this shrine that the Maharaja Gangadhar Rao tied the nuptial knot with Rani Lakshmi Bhai. As the name suggests the presiding deity of the temple is Lord Ganesh.
The shrine depicts an unusual structural design. Since it situates in the precincts of a mighty fort, the temple also acquires the characteristics of the fort. Inspite of domed structures, the temple portrays the features of a typical fort. It seems that the temple is as old as that of the fort itself and it reminds the visitor about the bravery and valor of a great woman of yesteryears.
