Durgadevi Temple

Location

Durgadevi Temple, a renowned temple in the Konkan belt, is located nearby Harnai beach in Ratnagiri district of the state of Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Durga Devi, who is supposed to be the Goddess Mother. The temple is assumed to be built way back in 18th century.

The temple is attracted for its unique architectural style. The temple has beautifully carved 28 wooden pillars. There is a cool water pond behind the temple used for the temple rituals. The grandeur entrance is adorned by a large bell, believed to be brought from a church by the Great Maratha warrior Chimaji Appa after winning the war of Vasai. The temple is visited by many devotees regularly.
