Location
Divegar is beach town located ~15 kms from Shrivardhan that is lush an flined with high coconut plantations. There is a temple in Divegar which is built around the golden mask of Ganesha called “Suvarna Ganpati" or "Golden Ganesha”. This was uncovered by an old lady several decades ago and the original discovery spot has a small shrine. However an official temple for the same has been built down the side of the road and it houses the mask and the treasure chest found with it. The treasure chest has a pure gold 12 kg Lord Ganesha idol and it was believed that diamonds were also found in the chest when it was discovered.
