Situated at an altitude of 2755 meter, Dainkund is the highest mount in Dalhousie that provides the picture book scenery of the whole valley. The amazing experience of a pliable trudge in a beautiful ambience is quite spectacular, which provides an enthralling freshness to everyone. The sweet sound of the gentle breeze puffing through the trees makes a musical serenade and so Daikund is popularly known as the singing hill.
The Indian Air Force occupies the top of Daikund, from there a left turn will fetch oneself to the Pholani Devi Temple. The weird and wonderful fact about this temple is that, except a trident nothing can be found in the temple premises. Amazing sight of the stunning valley coupled with the glittering rivers flowing through the crisscross riverbeds, makes trekking to Daikund a must experienced spectacle.
