Location
The Bhubeneshwari temple is ancient and holy place visited by all cast of people. Near to this temple the Gunabati group of temples, The Durga temple, Mahadev temple and other several famous temples are located. It is almost visited by all castes of people, visitors and trough out the year thousands of devotes attends here daily for Darshans.
Bhubaneswari temple boasts of its amazing architecture. It was built on the bank of river Gomati in the 17th century by Maharaja Govinda Manikya. The famous Bengali writer Rabindranath Tagore mentioned this temple in two of his plays, namely Rajarshi and Bisharjan. The Stupas of the core chamber of the temple are decorated with floral motifs.
