What does a Park Estate in Mussoorie have in common with the highest peak in the world? Both are named after Sir George Everest. The Park Estate used to be the office and residence of Sir Everest, the First Surveyor General of India. The estate is located approximately 6 kms from Mussoorie. Needless to say, the place offers an excellent view of the Doon and the Yamuna valley, and the Himalayan range.
Imagine a picnic in the wilderness, surrounded by various forms of exotic wildlife around you! That’s Van Chetna Kendra, a picnic spot located 2 kms from Mussoorie, on Tehri bye-pass road. An enchanting spot with a park that is bounded by the pine forest and populated with flower-laden shrubs, this location has several striking species like Ghurar, Himalayan Peacock, Kankar and Monal.

Raj Bhavan is known as the Official Residence of the Governor of Goa and is situated around 7.4 km from Bambolim in Panaji. It is located on the confluence of two perennial rivers, Mandovi and Zuari that form the rim of the water space.
Legend states that during the Portuguese regime, this edifice was called as the Palacio do Cabo. Soon after the liberation of Goa, it was converted into the official residence of the Lt. Governor of the Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu and named as Cabo Raj Niwas. It was renamed as Raj Bhavan after Goa received statehood in 1987.
The Baga Retreat House, located close to Aguada Beach, was constructed by a Belgian Jesuit named Fr Adrian Le Tellier SJ, in the year 1951. The retreat house is located near the Baga Hill, which is surrounded by the Arabian Sea on three sides and lush green hills on the entrance side.
The house is dedicated to St. Francis Xavier and is used for conducting prayers and meditations. Trekkers can choose to climb up to the Baga Hill for reaching Baga Retreat House.
Established in 1885 by Bristish at Minicoy, is one among the oldest lighthouses in Lakshadweep. This is a wonderful structure attracting many tourists, which is a major landmark in Minicoy Island. One can go right up to the top of this Light house with a height of 300 feet. A bird’s eye view of the Lakshadweep islands is an amazing seen from the top of the Light house. The surroundings are highly reverberating with dynamic activities in the Island. This is a perfect tourist destination with all natural beauty.
The Secretariat is the largest building in the Capitol Complex and is the headquarters of both the Punjab and Haryana governments. It is one of the Capitol buildings and houses all the ministries. The Secretariat and Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) buildings are in Sector 1.
