Glass Beads of Arunachal

Tribals are extremely fond of jewellery and ornaments. Coloured beads are often strung together as simple necklaces and worn around the neck. Others make the beads into attractive patterns. The Wanchos make ear ornaments from glass beads, wild seeds, cane, bamboo, and reed. In southeast Arunachal Pradesh beads of agate stone, brass, and silver are also used.

Firozabad town in Uttar Pradesh is the premiere center of glassware manufacturing in India. Although this town produces a large variety and range of glassware in India, it has become synonymous to Bangles. Bangles are the Indian Glass-bracelets that are wore by women. Colored glass base, embossed with golden miniature artwork is the special attraction of the Thewa work. Floral patterns are etched on gold foil and superimposed on glass moulds and the glassware is cast in such moulds. Thewa pendants are famous pieces of jewelry and their blazing hues and exquisite patterns attract women across the world.

Glass Painting of Bihar

The glasswork of Bihar is a popular craft, which is exported abroad. This craft has gine down with time. Traditional pictures made on the walls of the houses are highly decorative and attractive which are made of glass with gold or silver pieces to ill up the entire picture. A number of articles are made this way are boxes, trays, table tops and mats. The chou dance of the Seraikala region of Bihar uses masks. The masks bear the rich historical past of the state.
